I am a psychotherapist and have been practising privately for 14 years as well as working within the NHS for four years as a counsellor attached to a GP's surgery. I am in my late fifties and prior to becoming a therapist worked in the business sector in conjunction with bringing up my family. I was trained at the Centre for Counselling, Psychotherapy and Education and have UKCP accreditation.

I work from a transpersonal perspective; a perspective that draws extensively upon Jungian ideology and encompasses a spiritual dimension. I see this as entailing investigation in to the past personal history and life experience with a view to discovering how it is that difficult patterns have emerged and an exploration of how these patterns emanate and affect us adversely in the present. In addition to this, and this I see as being the transpersonal aspect, there is a search for a wider meaning and a quest for a sense of purpose in our lives. For some this quest is seen as being of a spiritual nature for others a wish to be connected to something larger and inexplicable. Within this framework, using an integrative and humanistic approach, I work with anxiety, stress, phobias, relationship difficulties etc., as well as less specific feelings of 'all is not going as planned' and feelings of being off-centre, grief and loss.

I am open to working with both short and long term therapy – this is dependent on a number of factors which would be open for discussion on first meeting. The room in which therapy takes place is situated in Balham, South London and is informal, quiet and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. My appointment hours are from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday.
